Scotty R. Ortega, MD is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice. He has been in practice since completing his training at the St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, Ohio in 2009. Since moving to Odessa, TX in 2012, Dr. Ortega worked as a hospitalist and in 2015 opened his own Private Practice. The love and compassion for geriatrics, he rounds in several Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Centers in Permian Basin.

Dr. Ortega enjoys mentoring clinical students in geriatrics and family practice. His hobbies include spending time with his family (wife Laura and 2 daughters) and volunteering in the community.

Shiram Herrera, APN

Mrs. Herrera was born in New York City, has been practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 2015. She received her medical training at Monterrey, Mexico where she lived for 8 years and obtained her Masters in Nursing at Walden University. Shiram works with Dr. Scotty Ortega to provide the best comprehensive care from adolescence to the elderly. Her areas of expertise include women””s health (pap smears, breast exams, birth control )as well as controlling chronic illnesses like Diabetes, Hypertension, Lupus, Rheumatoid Arthritis and weight loss just to name a few. She always welcomes patients with a smile making them feel welcomed at any time of the day.
