Justin Aaron Amaro, DO

Justin Aaron Amaro, DO is a board-certified osteopathic and family medicine physician focusing on treating the body, mind, and spirit at Amaro Integrative Medicine in Amarillo, Texas. Dr. Amaro and his wife founded the practice in 2014 with the goal to give patients the time they deserve, one-on-one with him or his experienced nurse practitioner. He uses a patient-centered approach to identify the root of the problem, rather than just treating the symptoms.

Born and raised in the Texas Panhandle, Dr. Amaro knew he wanted to be a family physician before his acceptance into medical school. During his training, Dr. Amaro learned the value of combining hands-on osteopathic techniques with traditional medicine to treat the entire body, mind, and spirit to better manage and prevent chronic medical conditions.

Dr. Amaro attended undergraduate school at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He earned his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. For his internship residency training, Dr. Amaro chose South Pointe Hospital, a community hospital of the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.

At Amaro Integrative Medicine, Dr. Amaro offers advanced diagnostics and treatment for a variety of conditions, including diabetes, obesity, and chronic pain. He combines the benefits of traditional medicine with the latest options in osteopathic medicine, including nutritional counseling, nutraceuticals, and manipulation to address the whole-person needs of every patient.

When not working at his practice, Dr. Amaro and his wife enjoy a friendly college football rivalry. They share a love of golf and like to spend time around the firepit with friends and family. Dr. Amaro and his wife are the proud parents of a son and are grateful they get to raise him in Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle.
