Bryan Rolfes, MD

Dr. Bryan Rolfes MD

After medical school Dr. Rolfes spent over a decade in training that involved five years of surgical residency and three separate fellowships in preparing to build a world-class practice devoted to the best possible outcomes.

Dr. Rolfes graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College where he majored in Classical Studies of ancient Greece and Rome.

He then worked in advertising and product design, but after seeing one of his mentors battle a disfiguring cancer he decided to pursue a career in medicine.

He attended the Chicago Medical School, was accepted into a competitive residency in Head and Neck Surgery at The Cleveland Clinic.

He completed additional fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at Boston University under Dr. Jeffrey Spiegel, and a cosmetic surgery fellowship under Dr. John Ness.

He also spent a year as a senior fellow at the Medical Devices Center at the University of Minnesota where he worked with industry partners like Medtronic and Boston Scientific to develop cutting edge medical innovations.

He was an assistant professor at Boston University and then moved back to Minnesota and opened his own practice.

Eventually, he joined forces with Dr. Ness and created Omni Cosmetic.

Through his training and in his practice, Dr. Rolfes has focused on using technology to revolutionize surgical procedures.

He has 5 issued and many pending US and international patents for his novel developments.

He is also one of the most experienced Facial Feminization (FFS) surgeons in the country and does more of these procedures than anyone else in Minnesota or the surrounding states.

A Saint Paul native and graduate of Cretin-Derham Hall, Dr. Rolfes and his wife, Chela, have a full house with a son, a daughter, and a couple dogs.

John Ness, MD

Dr. John Ness

The short story is that John Allan Ness, MD spent 17 years, after high school, to obtain the world-class education and training that it takes to be a modern plastic surgeon. He spent 3 years in academics, training the next generation of surgeons, and he has been in private practice for the past 12 years building his practice and developing his reputation for quality. He has already been elected and served a two year term as President of the Minnesota Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has found the practice of plastic surgery to be the perfect fit for combining his loves of art and science.

Although his unique background gave him extensive training in facial plastic surgery, he also enjoys the process of breast and body reshaping. He is a people person and finds beauty in restoring the whole person. Dr. Ness is an active listener and his consultations tend to be more of a dialogue. In addition to volunteering as the Medical Director for a local program, he has volunteered his surgical talents on numerous overseas, medical missions to repair the broken smiles of children with cleft lips and palates. Both he and his wife like to travel and have found unexpected joy in this journey to becoming a well-respected plastic surgeon and leader.
