Richard D. Welch, M.D. is a native of Bowling Green, KY and a graduate of Western Kentucky University.
He received his medical degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in Lexington, KY in 1994.
He completed his residency training in the specialty of family medicine in Columbia, South Carolina at Richland Memorial Hospital/USC.
Dr. Richard Welch is a board-certified Family Physician with advanced certification in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy as well as additional training in bariatrics and aesthetic medicine.
He is licensed by the National Board of Medical Examiners with both the Kentucky and South Carolina Medical Boards.
Dr. Welch is an associate member of PrimeCare Medicine Associates since January 1998, where he continues to have a large vibrant medical practice. He serves as the medical director/owner of MD Cosmedx, southern Kentucky’s first advanced stand-alone aesthetic and laser/lipolysis center which opened in 2004.
Dr. Welch is also the medical director of Doctor’s Diet Program of Kentucky, which opened in 2007.
It was the first physician supervised weight loss management center in southern Kentucky with a focus on nutrition, exercise, and dietary supplements.
Over the last 18 plus years, Dr. Welch has tried to bridge the gap between conventional medicine and more personalized, preventive, proactive medicine.
He has been fortunate to learn and train with some of the best physicians throughout the United States, in both aesthetics, bariatrics, and anti-aging medicine.
Sherri Newman, APRN
Sherri Newman, is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who has been practicing in Bowling Green, KY since 2010.
After graduating from WKU in 1994 with her BSN, she worked in the CCU setting for 4 years.
In 1998 she transitioned to the area of Health and Wellness.
Sherri saw the need for practitioners in Preventive and Anti-Aging care and decided to return to school to pursue a degree as a FNP.
Mrs. Newman began her career practicing part-time in a thriving weight loss clinic alongside Dr. Richard Welch.
After practicing for 2 years she realized that there is more to weight loss than just diet and exercise.
Experiencing hormone related changes herself she began researching hormone replacement therapy and the role hormones play in not only weight loss but also one’s well-being.
Sherri knew this was the career path she wanted to continue after experiencing such positive results with her own hormone replacement therapy.
